| Little Johnny Russells |
Tuesday night i went out with my colleague from Austria, Julia. She brought her French housemate - Benjamin - with her and i invited three English men - Tom, Ateeb and Grahan - which i had met before at the House Hunting Event. We went to Little Johnny Russells, a small pub with live music. It was 'Acoustic Night', therefore a local band was playing when we came in so we had great background music. It was a nice place where i definitely come back. Probably the 8th of October because then The Big Pink performs there. The Big Pink are an electro-rock duo from London, comprised of multi-instrumentalists Robbie Furze and Milo Cordell. The duo signed to the 4AD label in 2009, and won the prestigious NME Philip Hall Radar Award for best new act (www.myspace.com/musicfromthebigpink).
After that we went to some more pubs but didn't stay long. We ended up in V-bar, where they had a lot of different shooters. In the slide show at the right you can see a picture of all the different shooters we could choose. The shooters were only £1! The other drinks where pretty cheap as well, cheaper than in Belgium! So it's not true that England is more expensive, probably only in London.
Something that really surprised me how cheap it was, was the cab we took to go home. It was only £7 or something like that, and we were with 6 people so it was only a bit more than 1 pound! And the boys said i didn't had to pay it so i had to pay nothing at all. That was very nice of them. Englishmen are gentlemen!
