When counting your money before you leave on Erasmus to be sure you have enough to pay rent and buy food every month, you should also remember that you have to buy some books...
Because i study Marketing, i need expensive books. Apparently -_-. For project management i luckily don't need one and Ethics in Marketing also doesn't really has a good book, only suggested readings. But for my three other courses i have. For Services Marketing i bought 'Principles of Services Marketing' (£42,99), for Marketing Communications Strategy 'MCS: Interactivity, Communities and Content' (£45,99) and for Marketing Strategy: 'Value Based Marketing' (£34,99)
I bought them all at Blackwell because it's next to the Student Union and they recommended me that place, almost all students buy their books there. Indeed, ALMOST. Some are smarter and buy them at a website like amazone.co.uk. So note to future Erasmus students: check first if you can find the books elsewhere, like on a website, before buying them at the full price.
Blackwell does have second hand books, but of course not the ones i needed. But if i don't write in them i can sell them back to Blackwell at 40% of the price. It's better than nothing :)
