Halloween @ Student's Union |
The 31st of October is of course Halloweeeeen! Although it's more an American holiday, English people are also starting to celebrate it more and more. Apparently some kids even do trick-or-treating. Haven't seen one though, but I don't think I wanted that..
Well for (Erasmus) students, halloween means you have to dress up and act crazy ;) or at least go to a crazy party. I went with my Erasmus friends to the Student's Union to what we thought an erasmus halloween party. It was a halloween party, but it was for everyone and i actually didn't even see the organiser from the Erasmus social page. Too bad. But it was fun! Everyone was dressed up, in sometimes really original costumes. I didn't want to pay much money on a costume, cause i normally don't really celebrate it, so i just bought some black cat ears and a nose mask from a tiger (because i didn't find one from a cat). So yeah i just was a black cat (/tiger). But black cats are supposed to bring bad luck so it was still appropriate for halloween ;)
I never partied in the Student's Union before, only been there upstairs for guitar lessons. But it's a nice place cause there were a lot of things you could do. When you enter the Student's Union you're first in a big hall with 3 pool tables where you could play pool for only 1 pound. Then you had two possibilities: go outside to avoid damaging your ears because of the loud music coming out of The Waterhole Bar, or (take the risk of ear damage and) go inside The Waterhole Bar. In there you could sit, relax, drink something and watch the movies of scream on the big screens in one part of the room. At the other part of the room there was a dance floor and a DJ playing a lot of popular music. So if you were in the mood to dance (and of course we were), you just went over there.
It was a great night with a lot of funny pictures. So definitely try to dress up if you want to intend Halloween ;)
