Historic Dockyard

Omer @ Historic Dockyard

After my guitar lesson i went with Julia, Ben, Omer (see picture), Aurélien, Nicolas and Gaëtan to the Historic Dockyard, like real tourists :) The Historic Dockyard is located at the Naval Base and is the home of the Royal Navy. It allows people to visit important maritime attractions such as the Mary Rose Museum, HMS Victory and HMS Warrior.

To visit all 6 attractions and a harbour tour included, we had to pay £13,50 (student price). The harbour tour, the HMS Victory and the Mary Rose Museum could only be visited to day we bought the ticket. But with the ticket we bought, an all-inclusive ticket, you can visit the HMS Warrior 1860, Royal Naval Museum and Action Stations every time you want for 1 year.

Unfortunately i lost my ticket... There was a lot of wind when we got on the HMS Warrior. I was afraid that my ticket would fly away so i wanted to put it away. But it did fly away :( into the water... The man who was standing at the entrance of the HMS Warrior couldn't get the ticket out of the water so he said i should ask for a new one. But i didn't get one -_- although the women who sold them knew i just had bought a ticket, and although i had a receipt with the exact price on it, she refused to give me a new all-inclusive ticket. She did give me a '1 Day Only'-ticket, but the visiting hours were almost over so i only had the chance to visit the HMS Victory and a quick view in the Action Stations.

Besides the little ticket accident, i had a fun day. And the rest offered me to use their ticket if i ever want to visit the other attractions, which is really nice of them. You can find the rest of the pics i took in the slideshow. Most of them aren't really interesting, but they may come in very handy for an assignment for history or so ;)

The day finished with a bbq at Alexandre's place. The food was good, the company was good, it was a perfect ending and it made me forget the lost of my expensive ticket :)
