Italian market

Italian Food Market Portsmouth

Italian Food Market Portsmouth

Today i went, after my guitar lesson - which was a great session cause it normally ends at 1pm but Adam (the guitar teacher) gave up his jam session time to learn us some songs till 4pm, very nice of him - to Gunwharf Quays to visit the Italian market. Like the name says, it's a market full of italian products which you can taste and buy. The market takes place from the 6th till the 8th of November, so those who didn't know about it can still go tomorrow!

Although i had expected more stands, i liked what i saw! You could buy italian bread, italian salami, italian vinegar oil, italian candy, italian olives, italian cookies,... Unfortunately no italian wine or different kind of pasta. I bought the cookies because they looked really yummy (you can see a picture of them in the slideshow) and a salami (sopressa del fattore) to use for my spaghetti i wanted to make afterwards. For those who will visit the Italian market tomorrow and also want to buy the cookies, don't do it! Although everyone has a different taste, i wouldn't recommend them ;) They were also pretty expensive. The salami however is delicious! It made my spaghetti sauce taste better than ever. It had cost me 4 pounds but it was definitely worth it. More pictures of the stands you can find in the slideshow at the right.
