After our little London trip, my Belgian friends and I came to Portsmouth to show them around and party with the locals. Well, with the older locals actually. Cause in the weekend most of the students are going home or throw house party's, while the clubs and venues are filled with the older generation. So i thought it would be best if we would go to the Wedgewood Rooms. The Wedgewood Rooms is a live music venue where many national and international live acts in the world of music and comedy are held. Even The Clash has once played in this very own venue.
Every first Saturday of the month, Funktifino - Portsmouths premier independent club night - is held in The Wedgewood Rooms. The kind of music you can expect at this event is Club Classics, US House, Old Skool House, Acid House, Hip Hop, R&B, Dancehall / Bashment, Reggae, Funk, Disco, Jazz-Funk, Soul, Jazz and Rare Groove. More info at www.funktifino.co.uk. As main act, the Soul/Funk/Pop band 'Tremain' gave an impressing performance with some known and less known songs. Too bad they also attracted more 'middle-aged' people but it was fun to watch and i hope i will have the same energy as them when i'm older.
